OOzi connection refused when executing Job

Hi,

   I am executing a Oozi job for Hive action. The same job ran scessfully in same VM two months back.

  Now it is erroring with connection refused.

JA006: Call From quickstart.cloudera/192.168.0.24 to
quickstart.cloudera:10020 failed on connection exception:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused; For more details see:

Do I need to start some service or what could be the reason.

Here is my Job Properties file.

nameNode=hdfs://quickstart.cloudera:8020
jobTracker=quickstart.cloudera:8032

InputDir= ${nameNode}/user/data/emp
OutputDir= ${nameNode}/user/cloudera/ooziout/Employee

oozie.libpath=${nameNode}/user/cloudera/share/lib
oozie.use.system.libpath=true
oozie.wf.rerun.failnodes=true

oozie.wf.application.path=${nameNode}/user/${user.name}/oozi/Employ

Re: OOzi connection refused when executing Job

A connection refused often means that :

- either there is no service listening at the ip:port specified

- either the service is there but a firewall block the communication

In the list of service you have provided I don't see "Hive" but I'm not sure under which name it should be identified when you don't use "Cloudera manager".

Re: OOzi connection refused when executing Job

Thank you for your input.

Now I created a new virtual Box from quickstar Vm , I tried to sqoop the table to HDFS.

I am getting message as connection refused.

My command is

sqoop import --connect jdbc:mysql://localhost/test  \
--table employee --username root --password cloudera \
--target-dir /user/dmishra/sqoop/emp_sal4 -m 1 --fields-terminated-by '|' ;

I am getting folloing error. Where should I change the configueration ?
