How do I start a service in manually install PATH

Hi

I installed CDH with tarball and the root path of CDH is /opt/cloudera/parcels. Could anyone tell me how to start a service, such as impala? I only saw service impala-server start in online documentation.

Re: How do I start a service in manually install PATH

If I understand correctly , you would like to kick off impala catalog and impala state store server service from command line . if this is not what you looking for please let me know .

Impala Demons

sudo service impala-state-store start
sudo service impala-catalog start
sudo service impala-server start

sudo service impala-state-store stop
sudo service impala-catalog stop
sudo service impala-server stop

sudo service impala-state-store restart
sudo service impala-catalog restart
sudo service impala-server restart

Re: How do I start a service in manually install PATH

Thanks for you reply,
I know I can start the service by commands you list when I install CDH by using apt-get install way.
My question is about how to start these services if I install CDH in /opt/cloudera/parcels by default. which means the init scripts are placed in /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH/etc/rc.d/init.d.
