No CDH version detected| Cloudera manual installation

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I am installing cloudera cdh 5.4.1 multinode cluster on centos 6.5 64-bit by creating local yum repository. I have downloaded and setup yum repository using below url

http://archive.cloudera.com/cdh5/redhat/6/x86_64/cdh/5.4.1/RPMS/.

While completing the seup i received an error message "no cdh version detected" and cannot continue with setup.

Kindly see attached an error screenshots as reference.

Note - I am configuring this setup using cloudera manager 5.4.1

Re: No CDH version detected| Cloudera manual installation

Please ensure you have followed all the steps in this page to create a local yum repository. Then use this repository in Cloudera Manager when building your cluster

Re: No CDH version detected| Cloudera manual installation

Had the same issue working from a local YUM repo, the following procedure solved it to me:

1 - Remove all packages (Yum remove cloudera*)
2 - Remove all folders left behind (var/lib, var/run, var/log)
3 - Remove created YUM Repos (manager.rep & cloudera-cdh5.rep)
4 - [On master] - Refresh DB (Drop database temp & create + permissions)
5 - Reboot all hosts
-----------------
----ReInstall----
-----------------
5 - Install Manager server, Manager Deamons
5.1 - Insert JAVA_HOME to init.d
5.2 - Prepare DB
5.3 - Start deamon (systemctl)
6 - Start wizard

I suspect that your hosts may have multiple version of cdh ?

Could you list down the steps you have performed .

Re: No CDH version detected| Cloudera manual installation

You dont need to set java path if you are using Cloudera manager installer (automatic)
