cdh 5.5 ?

Hi,

first of all big thanks to Cloudera for the great CDH distribution.

is there any rough estimate (ie days vs weeks) when cdh 5.5 is going to be released?

Thanks for your interest but we are unable to be too precise when CDH5.5
will be out. Is there a specific feature or patch that interests you?

Looks like 5.5 is branch frozen now, we might see a release soon

Although it's based on 1.5.0 and not 1.5.1 :(

Hopefully it'll get rebased to 1.5.1 as 1.5.0 had quite a lot of serious bugs.

Cloudera - are you able to comment re CDH 5.5 release date and what version of Spark it will support? Can we expect a release before the end of the year?

I'm interested in  spark 1.5  and phoenix 4.4( and above).   the spark 1.3.0 has some bugs ,such like  this

Just an info note, that CDH base versions of a component such as Apache Spark 1.5.0 in CDH 5.5.0 is much more than that. All Apache components in CDH carry a base Apache version from upstream, but are further added with critical fixes back ported from the project's trunk and applied along. Equating it to a pure Apache base version release is incorrect.
