Cdsw installation: Error starting daemon

I have this error while installing cdsw.

+ exec /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDSW-1.3.0.p1.244221/docker/bin/dockerd --log-driver=journald -s devicemapper --storage-opt dm.basesize=100G --storage-opt dm.thinpooldev=/dev/mapper/docker-thinpool --storage-opt dm.use_deferred_removal=true --iptables=false
time="2018-05-16T16:04:25.089690871-07:00" level=info msg="libcontainerd: new containerd process, pid: 4093"
Error starting daemon: error initializing graphdriver: devicemapper: Non existing device docker-thinpool

PS: I'm new in cloudera and cdsw and here I don't know to fix this error.

Thank you in advance for your answers

Re: Cdsw installation: Error starting daemon

Hi,

Docker needs the docker-thinpool volume to be present. This is created by the Prepare Node script from the devices you configured under the Docker Block Device.

To debug this you can try to rerun the Prepare Node script which is available from CM under the Actions menu and see that the device is created. A typical issue I saw is configuring a mounted/formatted disk for the Docker Block Device. We need a plain disk to be set there.

Regards,

Peter
