How to add additional property to service configuration through Cloudera Manager

I am using cloudera manager 4.7

And I with to add a new property to mapReduce

for example mapreduce.tasktracker.outofband.heartbeat = true

Unfortunately, there is no mapreduce.tasktracker.outofband.heartbeat

property field in default mapreduce configuration.

How to set this property to my mapReduce?

Can I do this through Cloudera Manager?

Is there another ways to do this?

Re: How to add additional property to service configuration through Cloudera Manager

Hi Pavel,

Use the Advanced Configuration Snippet (safety valve) for the appropriate file you want to modify. There are many places you could put this code, so be sure you are modifying the correct file for the correct role or client configuration.

Also be sure to write proper XML in that field if the file is an XML.

See documentation on how to use these here:

Thanks,

Darren
