How to upgrade Spark 1.6.0 to 2.1.0 ?

I have used  CDH 5.12 for installation. By default it installs Spark 1.6.0. Can I upgrade Spark by downloading and manual installation ? What are the recommended steps one need to perform ?

Thanks

@vikash145

In general both Cloudera & Hortonwork supports two different services for Spark 1.x and 2.x

so you don't need to upgrade your spark 1.x, instead you can install spark 2.x as a new service

Pls refer this link for more details
