hive classpath error following reboot

hi

 

we are using a fresh install of cdh5, after install we are able to query from the hive cli without issue, however following a reboot we are not, there were no config changes, and this has happened on 3 occasions following fresh installs, the error is:

I am suffering the identical problem on my set up. I'm thinking this is a classpath problem. A definitive list of variables that must be set for a cloudera installation of hive to work from the command line (everything is fine in hue) would be really useful.
