collection aliasing using solrctl

Hi

I am using solr with cloudera distribution to index data from hdfs and I am using "solrctl" utility for my deployment. Now i wanted to create collection alias. How can i perform the action of creating collection aliasing by commands. From google i got : " /admin/collections?action=CREATE "  . How to achieve this by solrctl or by anything by commands from terminal.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for asking your question in the Cloudera Community Forums!

Before we can give you an accurate answer, can you clarify a couple of details on your installation for us?

Are you running a secure cluster including Kerberos? Also, which version of CDH are you currently using?

Re: collection aliasing using solrctl

As far as I know, you can't manage "aliases" using the command line utility "solrctl".

Maybe in the newer version of CDH ? (but I'm afraid not)

Re: collection aliasing using solrctl

Does SOLR collection aliasing is available in CDH 5.9.3 or newer version?

Re: collection aliasing using solrctl

Yes, collection aliasing is available using the Collections API in CDH5.

Here is a blog post detailing the feature: https://blog.cloudera.com/blog/2013/10/collection-aliasing-near-real-time-search-for-really-big-data...
