Tech Talk: Resource Management in Apache Impala
Multi-tenancy on a large cluster is the norm. Impala has implemented its own resource management strategy called "Admission Control" to facilitate multi-tenancy since version 1.3. This talk will go over some of the key design decisions, some lessons we learned. This talk will also discuss some common use cases and how it will evolve in the future.
Speaker: Alan Choi is a software engineer at Cloudera working on the Impala project. Before joining Cloudera, he worked at Greenplum on the Greenplum-Hadoop integration. Prior to that, Alan worked extensively on PL/SQL and SQL at Oracle.
