i am trying to insert data from nasa logs to cloudera using  flume agent , any help on how to resolve this issue ?

# this should be started first to create the avro server endpoint
flume-ng agent --name server --conf-file server_agent.properties

# flume agent for the first client
flume-ng agent --name julyLog --conf-file clienta.properties

Re: error while ingestion of data using flume from nasa

This is indicating that you are trying to send to an avro sink on localhost, but its not connecting:

17/07/01 11:44:24 ERROR flume.SinkRunner: Unable to deliver event. Exception follows.
org.apache.flume.EventDeliveryException: Failed to send events

at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:745)
Caused by: org.apache.flume.FlumeException: NettyAvroRpcClient { host: localhost, port: 4545 }: RPC connection error

Can you provide the server_agent.properties and clienta.properties? Are they both running on the same node?

is that a single or multinode cluster archictecure ?

whats you host file looks like .  it seems it has touble communicating .

did you configure your ip / hostname - host resolution  .

in /etc/hosts

for example  192.168.200.1     server1

Re: error while ingestion of data using flume from nasa

[ Edited ]

working on pseudo mode , installed it on my pc

[cloudera@quickstart ~]$ cat /etc/hosts
# This file is generated by /usr/bin/cloudera-quickstart-ip, which is invoked
# by /etc/init.d/cloudera-quickstart-init. If you wish to change the way that
# /etc/hosts is generated, you may edit /etc/init.d/cloudera-quickstart-init
# and hard-code a different IP address as a parameter to
# /usr/bin/cloudera-quickstart-ip, or you may comment out that line and manage
# /etc/hosts yourself.

127.0.0.1 quickstart.cloudera   quickstart        localhost       localhost.domain

any suggestion ?

Re: error while ingestion of data using flume from nasa

Just edit the hostname name as you like

⦁	Open /etc/hosts file

⦁	Command : sudo nano /etc/hosts
                      or

                   sudo vi /etc/hosts

Change the hostname

sudo nano /etc/sysconfig/network

or

sudo vi /etc/sysconfig /network

for example

/etc/hosts
#ip hostname
192.168.1.25 server1

/etc/sysconfig/network

NETWORKING=YES
HOSTNAME=server1

reboot the vm see if the changes has reflected

by

echo $HOSTNAME

then subsitute the ip / hostname were ever you need them in the flume configuration

I did not change the ip name, used same config and the access_log for July was missing in source folder from where the flume ingests data.

Re: error while ingestion of data using flume from nasa

I did not change the IP name, the access_log for July is in a different folder so I changed the folder and this is the result, I got the data for August access logs but for July I am receiving channel is full

output for Aug logs:

/ user / cloudera / output / logs / nasa / nasa_.1499526397773.log
