multiple agent configuration for flume

[ Edited ]

Hi all,

I have configured one agent for flume on one node.

We have multitenancy implemented in put cluster, so wanted to know whether we can add multiple agents each for different environment or not.

Can anyone please help me doing that?

Thanks,

Priya

Re: multiple agent configuration for flume

You can run multiple flume agents on one host. To do so, you would need to set up a flume service for each agent. You can't have multiples of the same role (flume agent) for a given service, but you can have multiple services, each with their own agent, configured for one host.

Re: multiple agent configuration for flume

@pdvorak,

Thanks for your inputs. We have multiagent flume set up in our CDH cluster. Now we have other requirement to set up additional agent for other purpose. Can we run additional flume agent on the existing flume agent node ? And how we can do that?
Please suggest.

Thanks,

Re: multiple agent configuration for flume

In order to run multiple agents on the same node, you have to have a distinct service for each agent.

Re: multiple agent configuration for flume

@pdvorak,

We do have different purpose for the agent and configuration too. Wanted to know whether I can start the new agent through command line instead of cloudera manager with different name please?

Thanks,
Priya
