Impala refresh

I have a query about refresh command. If I have a table partitioned on two columns ( logtype and date), will the following command work if I want to refresh all the log types on a given date ?

refresh mytable partition (logtype='*',m_date='2018-01-15');

Re: Impala refresh

If you have new partitions(logtype), you need to use
ALTER TABLE tablename RECOVER PARTITIONS command

Re: Impala refresh

Would the above command recover *all* the possible partitions for that table ( similar to msck repair table in hive world) ?

I am looking for a command which would refresh partitions corresponding to one partition type ( in my case date).

Re: Impala refresh

Yes, all partitions, that there're in HDFS now, will be recovered by this command.
But what is the point to recover or refresh just one partition?
