Hi,

I'm new in this nice community. I need to obtain the certification CCA Data Analyst. 

I'm doing the tutorial exercises.

This is my firt question:

In the tutorial excersise 2, why after the creation of external table, we have to run the command:

ADD JAR /usr/lib/hive/lib/hive-contrib.jar?

I don't understand the utility of this command. The following select runs even if I don't run this add jar.

Could someone explain i to me, please?
