Error in installing clients for any service

I have installed HDP 2.6.4 with Ambari 2.6.1 on 6 node cluster. I am trying to install zookeeper, kafka, hdfs, hive, services. but while installing services it throws an following error while installing client:

above error is occurred while installing slider client. same error occurred while installing every client service like zookeeper client, hdfs client, and so on.

Kindly suggest on the above.

Hi Girish, Muthukumar,

There are couple of checks you need to do, go to Ambari Admin Tab > Stack and Versions, click on Versions tab and check if the HDP version matches to HDP 2.6.4.0.

Also check if you are using the right HDP repo file.

You can also try to manually install the package and check if you are getting the error.

yum install storm-slider-client

Repo is fine and manually I'm able to install storm-slider client. You know all packages installed, only it is throwing error on

install,start & Test portion of the ambari console for new cluster build. Also it is new build and first time, hence there is no stack & versions on the console. I have gone through links which tells 2.6.2.0 will work, whether I can directly try that version or need to clean up all packages manually which is pretty tough? Or trying 2.6.2.0 will cleanup and will do the installation? IF no got any steps to cleanup for these issues? Thank you in advance.

Here are the steps you can do. I had same issue and solved.

Solution:

[root ~]# yum list installed | grep storm

storm_2_6_4_0_91-slider-client.x86_64 1.1.0.2.6.4.0-91 installed

You can see storm-slider says "installed". But it did not pickup from HDP repo i provided.

On the node run below

[root ~]# yum-complete-transaction

--notice it saying.. There are 1 outstanding transactions to complete.

[root ~]# yum remove storm_2_6_4_0_91-slider-client (check your version to just make sure)

Now, goto Ambari and install or Re-install on the node. And Ambari Component Version alert also should go away after re-install.

@bmasna Thank you so much, issue got resolved. I did remove everything related to storm-slider, remove every folder related to storm slider and checked repo file too then issue got resolved.
