Then start the NameNode using <EM>/sbin/hadoop-daemon.sh </EM>start namenode.</LI><LI>Use <EM>/sbin/stop-all.sh</EM> and the use <EM>/sbin/start-all.sh</EM>, command which will stop all the demons first.
