    <description>&lt;P&gt;Are you running hive/beeline as the hive user or root?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;To get to Hive as the hive user I do:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;sudo su - hive&lt;BR /&gt;hive&amp;nbsp;&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Then execute the queries.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
