Clarification on Availability of CountText Processor in Cloudera Flow Management 2.1.7

Hi Team,

Could you please confirm whether the CountText processor is a standard NiFi processor? I couldn't find it listed under the "Supported NiFi Processors" section in the Cloudera Flow Management 2.1.7 release notes:

The CountText processor is indeed available for use within NiFi as part of CFM 2.1.7; however, it is not listed among the processors officially supported by Cloudera in this release. As such, while it may function within the environment, it is not validated or guaranteed by Cloudera Support.

For this reason, we recommend avoiding the use of unsupported processors like CountText in production environments, as issues arising from them would fall outside the scope of standard support.

Could you please suggest an alternative processor to use in NiFi as part of CFM 2.1.7 that provides the same functionality and attributes as the CountText processor?

There is no other processor that provides this same functionality. This Apache community processor is not tested or maintained by Cloudera and thus is not included in the list of Cloudera supported NiFi processor components. This does not mean that the processor has any known issues, but does mean that Cloudera would not be obligated to provide bug fixes if they did arise nor provide support for this processor component.

If this is an important processor for you and you have a Cloudera Flow management license, I would encourage you to raise this with your Cloudera Account owner requesting that Cloudera add this component to the list of supported components. Just making this formal request does not guarantee it will be added, but gets visibility around the processor for consideration.

I am happy to report that I have reviewed CountText with Cloudera's engineering team and Cloudera will officially support the CountText processor effective with CFM 2.1.7 SP2 and CFM 4.10 releases.
