I have an old cluster that had some hard drives fail. On one server (node06), the OS drive failed and instead of building it from scratch, I created an image from another node (node02) in the cluster. I then started the new server (node06) and changed the name and the IP address to match node06. But when I put it back on the network, Cloudera kind of went crazy because it thought that node was node02 and duplicated it.

Is there something I need to do on the imaged node (node06) so it doesn't think it is node02? I hope this makes sense.

Hello @jkoral

Thank you for reaching out to Cloudera community

You mean to say the node is still coming with old hostname even though you changed the hostname

So cloudera-agent will work with UUID's as well which is stored in /var/lib/cloudera-scm-agent/uuid

Can you check once if that file is same or different? What UUID host is showing in CM UI?

Thank you for the reply. I am assuming it is the same. Should I just delete the UUID from the file and let Cloudera Manager re-create it? Or would it be easiest to just uninstall cloudera-scm-agent and run the wizard to have it re-added in CM?
