How to add users to Hive Beeline

I am using Hortonworks Sandbox 2.4, and I am trying to use the beeline command instead of the old hive. Based on Hortonworks tutorials, the default credentials are:

UN: guest
PW: guest-password

I'm interested in adding my own user, both as a user in the CentOS Linux and HDFS. In addition, I want to tinker around with Ranger's policy, effecting restrictions on user/s to be added.. How do I go about to add a new user (and set the password) that can access HiveServer2 using beeline?
