hadoop fs -put ./Batting.csv /user/guest/

put: Permission denied : user=root, access=WRITE, inode="/user/guest/Battings.csv_COPYING_":guest:guest:drwxr-xr-x

copy the file to /home/guest as root "cp Batting.csv /home/guest"

then "su guest" then you can upload to /user/guest

sudo -u guest hdfs dfs -put Batting.csv /user/guest

Its because of permission issue.

Permission denied : user=root, access=WRITE, inode="/user/guest/Battings.csv_COPYING_"

Log in as root then do this

su - hdfs

hdfs dfs -chown -R guest:hdfs /user/guest

exit

su - guest

hadoop fs -put ./Batting.csv /user/guest/
