What we can new in HADOOP technology for the research point of view ?

Hi,

I'm pursuing Master in Information Techonlogy and having 4 year experience in web development. Due to my research area I have collect knowledge on Hadoop technology to process a big data. Please help me to do work in this. Kindly let me know what are the problems having in the hadoop implementation on which I can do my research and contribute my knowledge & experience in it.
