      <title>What are "clients" shown under the components list?</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;On the host details page, I can see various clients listed as "Client / HBase Client, HCat Client...". I would like to understand what are these clients and what is their use?. I also see that some of the clients have a red rectangle against them.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

You install them in edge node "We dont need to install clients in all the nodes" &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Its like sqlplus in oracle or mysql in mysql server. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you want to launch beeline then you type beeline &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;pig , hive and so on&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="1956-screen-shot-2016-02-09-at-112741-am.png" style="width: 990px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.cloudera.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/22190iE2353C03CABFF4DC/image-size/medium?v=v2&amp;amp;px=400" role="button" title="1956-screen-shot-2016-02-09-at-112741-am.png" alt="1956-screen-shot-2016-02-09-at-112741-am.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
