How to enable security in Hbase?

Is there any way of enabling security in Hbase, does that affect performance?. Please guide me on this.

Authentication - Kerberos is must

Authorization - Apache Ranger to enable access controls.

@Neeraj Sabharwal，There are ranger hbase-plugin enabled but no kerberos in our environment,we have found that authentication only works for OS users but not for AD users, must hbase authentication enable kerberos? Doesn't hbase support AD authention?
