      <description>&lt;A rel="user" href="https://community.cloudera.com/users/1966/prasad4ucom.html" nodeid="1966"&gt;@Ram D&lt;/A&gt;&lt;P&gt;you have seen this before. &lt;A href="https://community.hortonworks.com/questions/4940/hdp-os-upgradepatching-best-practices.html" target="_blank"&gt;https://community.hortonworks.com/questions/4940/hdp-os-upgradepatching-best-practices.html&lt;/A&gt;. Same with namenodes, make sure you have HA. when you failover everything to standby node, take services down on the active (now standby) namenode and patch it.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Steps to update OS patches.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1) Stop all application on cluster&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2) Apply the OS patches.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3) Reboot the system if required.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4) start all application on cluster &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;5) Validate all services.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
