    <description>&lt;P&gt;Can you send what is the error that you getting with this delete? Unless quotas are set, you should not see any issues with 'Trash' going in. &lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;you can skip trash&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;hdfs dfs -rm -r -skipTrash&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;P&gt;and need not worry about file size limit. &lt;A href="http://hadoop.apache.org/docs/current/hadoop-project-dist/hadoop-common/FileSystemShell.html" target="_blank"&gt;http://hadoop.apache.org/docs/current/hadoop-project-dist/hadoop-common/FileSystemShell.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
