Many services consist of a server component and a client component. For example, MapReduce has a History server component, Hive has a HiveServer2, etc. Service such as Tez, Sqoop, and Pig do not have any server component. You can see this by clicking on the service and looking at the running components and noticing there is only a client service running.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is important when considering management and operations, especially stopping and starting services and understanding where the service runs.  Many server services run on different nodes than the client components. Clients will run on all data nodes.  Hope this helps.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
