hive1: Service does not support role type HIVESERVER2 after CDM 5.2 upgrade

Hi,

Performed an upgrade from CDM 4.8.0 to 5.2 and everything seems to be working, except CDM refuses to manage the Hive Server2 role. CDH version is 4.1.3.

Trying to start it manually results in this error:

2014-11-13 15:47:16,722 FATAL [main] server.HiveServer2 (HiveServer2.java:main(84)) - Error starting HiveServer2
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/hadoop/mapred/JobConf

Has this been depreciated or anything? It's not clear what happened / is supposed to happen here. We need the hiveserver or a replacement to do certain tasks.

This is related to CDH4.1.3 not fully supporting Hiveserver2
