    <title>question Connect JDBC Hive using SQL Explorer in Archives of Support Questions (Read Only)</title>

    <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm using this excellent tutorial: &lt;A href="https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/25410/simple-steps-to-test-hive-jdbc-connect.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"&gt;https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/25410/simple-steps-to-test-hive-jdbc-connect.html&lt;/A&gt; and get the error "Java heap space".  I've went into the config within SQL Explorer and added this "AddVMOption -Xmx1024M", but still have the issue.   I'm pretty sure my crediantials are correct because when I can any of them I get the error: "Error initialzed or created transport for authentication: java....".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="9167-screen-shot-2016-11-07-at-103530-am.png" style="width: 764px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.cloudera.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/20274i3A367C23293916D6/image-size/medium?v=v2&amp;amp;px=400" role="button" title="9167-screen-shot-2016-11-07-at-103530-am.png" alt="9167-screen-shot-2016-11-07-at-103530-am.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
