    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi, &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It is possible to make Pheonix down or disable while keeping Hbase running or if i have to  make Phoenix down, Hbase has to be down?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Earliest answer will be much appreciable.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks in Advance.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You can turn off Phoenix Query  Server if you aren't using it, but I can't see there being too many resource issues.   Phoenix is awesome.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Muni, yes you can shut down phoenix while HBase will still be running. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On other note, as Tim mentioned below, Pheonix is really good and doesn't consume much resources, try exploring it.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
