    <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;A rel="user" href="https://community.cloudera.com/users/14200/asirna.html" nodeid="14200"&gt;@Aditya Sirna&lt;/A&gt; has found the solution to this, and documented at &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/174061/mbind-operation-not-permitted-when-running-hive-sh-1.html" target="_blank"&gt;https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/174061/mbind-operation-not-permitted-when-running-hive-sh-1.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;in short:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This happens when you run a java app in docker and the java app (e.g.: hive shell) has JVM argument: &lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;-XX:+UseNUMA&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;P&gt;Docker doesn't support this feature currently.
