      <description>&lt;P&gt;This page &lt;A href="https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.6.2.2/bk_ambari-installation/content/enable_ntp_on_the_cluster_and_on_the_browser_host.html" target="_blank"&gt;https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.6.2.2/bk_ambari-installation/content/enable_ntp_on_the_cluster_and_on_the_browser_host.html&lt;/A&gt; instructs to install ntpd even if using RHEL7/CentOS7.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As far as I know, Chrony is the default in RHEL7/CentOS7 instead of ntpd.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Why does that document instruct to install ntpd?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is there any reason not to use (or recommend) Chrony?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;A rel="user" href="https://community.cloudera.com/users/55170/toide.html" nodeid="55170"&gt;@Takefumi Oide&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;According to the ambari code base both "ntp" and "chrony" are fine any of these services are fine.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://github.com/apache/ambari/blob/release-2.6.2/ambari-agent/src/main/python/ambari_agent/HostInfo.py#L128-L134" target="_blank"&gt;https://github.com/apache/ambari/blob/release-2.6.2/ambari-agent/src/main/python/ambari_agent/HostInfo.py#L128-L134&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I see that there are few code changes made recently to also include the : &lt;A href="https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-18761" target="_blank"&gt;https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-18761&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Doc can be enhanced.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
