Hey @rxu@hortonworks.com, there is no single action to decomission all components (NM, RS, DN). Only individual decommission operations for each. It's easy enough to decomission each component at the same time, but to @Andrew Grande's point, the DataNode will take the most time to decommission depending on the settings for bandwidth/replication and amount of data on stored on the node.

in Ambari 2.1.1, I have to decommission each individual components, is there a way to decommission the whole node all in one click?

Sure! Hosts -> click into the node -> Host Actions -> Delete Host.

It may take some time if data blocks for HDFS need to be moved away from that host.

Does "Delete Host" initiate decommissioning DataNode (replicating blocks)?
