Please read this section of documentation on how to use the CLI tool: http://archive.cloudera.com/cdh4/cdh/4/oozie/DG_CommandLineTool.html#Oozie_URL, it will help you understand your error better, and in resolving this.

Re: Oozie is not working in CDH 3.0 VM

I have the same problem when I run "oozie admin -version" or "oozie admin -shareliblist"  with CDH5

Does anybody kindly help ?

Thanks.

Re: Oozie is not working in CDH 3.0 VM

Same with me too.. running into the same issue after upgrading to CDH 5.1.0 on my local cluster. Does anyone have any clues?

Also see this if I try passing in the oozie URL:

$ oozie admin -sharelibupdate -oozie http://vm-cluster-node1:8888/oozie

Error: AUTHENTICATION : Could not authenticate, Authentication failed, status: 404, message: NOT FOUND

Do I need to disable some security feature?

Thanks!

Re: Oozie is not working in CDH 3.0 VM

Oozie runs on port 11000; IIRC, 8888 is Hue, and there's no /oozie on Hue :)

Try this:

$ oozie admin -sharelibupdate -oozie http://vm-cluster-node1:11000/oozie

Also, instead of having to specify -oozie <url> everytime you do an Oozie command, you can set the OOZIE_URL environment variable.

e.g.

$ export OOZIE_URL=http://vm-cluster-node1:11000/oozie
