I'm facing the same issue, kudu parcels are activated:
But no sign of Kudu when I try to add it as a Service to my cluster, I've restarted both the cluster and scm-server:
I'm using CDH 5.8.0-1.cdh5.8.0.p0.42. Any help?

Are you sure that you correctly installed the Kudu CSD into the Cloudera Manager CSD directory before restarting Cloudera Manager? (/opt/cloudera/csd by default).

Yes, the CSD is what describes to CM how to manage the service. The parcel just handles binary distribution. You can find the CSD here:
I agree that it's unfortunate that the two aren't combined in a single package, but that's how things work today.

I've just added the CSD jar and I can see Kudu as a Service. Now I'm dealing with a kudu requirement of SSE4.2, which is not avialable in my ESX running on an Opteron host. But that's another story! :)
