Re: Cloudera Manager cannot find KUDU parcel

I'm facing the same issue, kudu parcels are activated:

But no sign of Kudu when I try to add it as a Service to my cluster, I've restarted both the cluster and scm-server:

I'm using CDH 5.8.0-1.cdh5.8.0.p0.42. Any help?

Re: Cloudera Manager cannot find KUDU parcel

Are you sure that you correctly installed the Kudu CSD into the Cloudera Manager CSD directory before restarting Cloudera Manager? (/opt/cloudera/csd by default).

Thanks

Re: Cloudera Manager cannot find KUDU parcel

I didn't. I've added http://archive.cloudera.com/beta/kudu/parcels/latest/ as a a repo and installed it from there. Is the CSD method mandatory?

Re: Cloudera Manager cannot find KUDU parcel

Yes, the CSD is what describes to CM how to manage the service. The parcel just handles binary distribution. You can find the CSD here:

I agree that it's unfortunate that the two aren't combined in a single package, but that's how things work today.

Re: Cloudera Manager cannot find KUDU parcel

I've just added the CSD jar and I can see Kudu as a Service. Now I'm dealing with a kudu requirement of SSE4.2, which is not avialable in my ESX running on an Opteron host. But that's another story! :)

Thanks for the prompt support!
