Unsupported intermediate cluster stage: UPDATE_FAILED

[ Edited ]

We are facing UPDATE_FAILED stage on cloudera director client due to some configuration change which was not applied successfully.

aws.reference.conf was perfect from validation point of view.

We are not able to recover from this status.

[ec2-user@ip-10-0-2-43 setup-default]$ cloudera-director update aws.prodfo.reference.conf Process logs can be found at /home/ec2-user/.cloudera-director/logs/application.log Plugins will be loaded from /var/lib/cloudera-director-plugins OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM warning: ignoring option MaxPermSize=256M; support was removed in 8.0 Cloudera Director 2.1.1 initializing ... Updating environment state ...done Unsupported intermediate cluster stage: UPDATE_FAILED

cloudera-director status command is also showing UPDATE_FAILED status.

cloudera director client is used for entire process.

Re: Unsupported intermediate cluster stage: UPDATE_FAILED

Hi Kartikbha,

Is there any more information here?  Was there a stacktrace in /home/ec2-user/.cloudera-director/logs/application.log?

Hi,

No information/hint seen at tail -f ~/.cloudera-director/logs/application.log.
