Phoenix 4.6 for CDH

Phoenix 4.6 for CDH

Expert Contributor

Phoenix community has provided an update of Phoenix for CDH:

 http://search-hadoop.com/m/9UY0h2hXcEbquiuZ1/&subj=Announcing+phoenix+for+cloudera+4+6+0

Would like to know how to go about installing from the binaries and also interested in how to setup the Phoenix query server.

Thanks!

You just need to copy phoenix-4.6.0-cdh5.4.5-server.jar into /usr/lib/hbase/bin/ and restart HBase.

Thanks. Any idea how one goes about setting up the query server?

This is how I started it on a Region Server, but I don't know if you can use Cloudera Manager to specify the server where to run the Phoenix Query Server.

sudo JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.7.0_67-cloudera /opt/cloudera/parcels/CLABS_PHOENIX-4.7.0-1.clabs_phoenix1.3.0.p0.000/lib/phoenix/bin/queryserver.py start

I then verified that it was up and running by executing the shell with the thin client:

JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.7.0_67-cloudera /opt/cloudera/parcels/CLABS_PHOENIX-4.7.0-1.clabs_phoenix1.3.0.p0.000/lib/phoenix/bin/sqlline-thin.py http://your-query-server-ip-address:8765
