Automated installation of Cloudera Manager and configuring hadoop services

Hi,

I'm looking to automate the installation of Cloudera Manager and all the hadoop services (CDH). I'm trying to use ansible if there is no straight forward solution. I'm bad in Python as well Java (Sorry).

I shall be giving the node's IP as well the service to be installed in that node in configuration files. I'm looking for something like this https://github.com/sergevs/ansible-cloudera-hadoop. But this ansible script doesn't install Cloudera Manager. I will be using AWS mostly, so something with Cloudera Director would also be ok, but I would like to stick with CM.

Any ready made templates would help me or if any one could share your Test scripts, that would also be useful.

Thanks & Regards,

Senthil

Re: Automated installation of Cloudera Manager and configuring hadoop services

Hi Senthil,
Director seems like the correct tool you're looking for, as it requires CM. Director will create the instances and install packages, etc.
Here is a short video showing Director -> Cloudera Manager -> Hue.
