Re: Cloudera 5.0.1 Installation is failing

What does Selinux show?

cat /etc/selinux/config

Should show:

# This file controls the state of SELinux on the system.
# SELINUX= can take one of these three values:
# enforcing - SELinux security policy is enforced.
# permissive - SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing.
# disabled - No SELinux policy is loaded.
SELINUX=disabled <--- This should be disabled and so should iptables/ip6tables
# SELINUXTYPE= can take one of these two values:
# targeted - Targeted processes are protected,
# mls - Multi Level Security protection.
SELINUXTYPE=targeted

It does show exactly what you expect.

Re: Cloudera 5.0.1 Installation is failing

By the way, I meant it shows the same as you posted.  Also, I hijacked this thread, but the installation is failing for 5.4 version.  Not sure if that makes a difference.

Re: Cloudera 5.0.1 Installation is failing

Are you using path A or Path B installation (binary installer or configure repo file and use yum?)

What OS are you installing over (cat /etc/redhat-release or platform equiv)

is anything appearing at /var/log/messages (or equiv, syslog) when you are attempting to install the runtime DB?

The embedded DB needs to be able to reach the OS repo for your distro to complete postgres install, is there anything indicating package dependancies are failing?

Also, why 5.0.1?  Is there a specific reason you are using this release (5.4 is current).  I'm not sure but there might of been issues with deploy in the 5.0.1, as 5.0.6 is current maintanance release in the 5.0.x release chain.

Nothing indicates that there are package dependencies that are failing, unless I am missing it.

The install is being done for v5.4, not v5.0.1.  I was searching for error and saw this thread with exact error and posted here.

Appreciate your time and help.

Re: Cloudera 5.0.1 Installation is failing

Ok so are you on 5.4 or 5.0.1, if you  are on 5.4 start a new thread as no one will catch that you have a 5.4 issue the way this thread context was changed... if you are installing 5.0.1 new... please clarify that.

Re: Cloudera 5.0.1 Installation is failing

You could just go in the /tmp and do the following and try the installation again which I just did to test and it worked perfectly.

# cd /tmp

# rm -rf *  <-- make sure you are in the /tmp folder by doing a pwd

# shutdown -r now < --- restart the system

# ./cloudera*.bin  <-- start installation

Give us the info you get after this.
