External LDAP authentication fails, no detailed error in logs

Dear community,

I tried to integrate CDH Manager with LDAP, but after configuring the LDAP as external auth provider, I cannot login with the test user.

The CDH manager server contains only this information:

2017-05-03 12:34:50,555 INFO 1780210889@scm-web-1:com.cloudera.server.web.cmf.CmfLdapAuthenticationProvider: LDAP/AD authentication failure for test01
2017-05-03 12:34:50,558 INFO 1780210889@scm-web-1:com.cloudera.server.web.cmf.AuthenticationFailureEventListener: Authentication failure for user: 'test01' from 172.101.168.226

Is there any logfiles about I'm not aware what would contain more details where exactly the authentication fails? I would need more details to debug the issue ...

Apparently it seems the ACL must be changed on LDAP.

Re: External LDAP authentication fails, no detailed error in logs

@SrJay,

No ACL changes should be required to authenticate via LDAP, so I'm not sure what that refererred to.

Please start a new thread and describe your configuration options along with the Cloudera Manager log when the auth fails.  Hopefully you have more of an error or stack trace.

We can add DEBUG logging to get more info if needed.

Thanks!
