Memory allocation issue in a Datanode .

[ Edited ]

Hello All ,

Memory on host ilp00958.mycomp.ad is overcommitted. The total memory allocation is 9.5 GiB bytes but there are only 7.6 GiB bytes of RAM (1.5 GiB bytes of which are reserved for the system). Visit the Resources tab on the Host page for allocation details. Reconfigure the roles on the host to lower the overall memory allocation. Note: Java maximum heap sizes are multiplied by 1.3 to approximate JVM overhead.

In one of my datanode i see the above warning . How can i rectifiy it ?

Thanks

Re: Memory allocation issue in a Datanode .

change your datanode java heap memory value in CM
go to services > hdfs > configuration > left pane (datanode) > Resource management > Property (Java Heap Size of DataNode in Bytes)
change the value there that fits your cluster or use the cloudera recommendations...

Re: Memory allocation issue in a Datanode .

Switch  to "New  Layout" in the configuration. You will see "Resource Management".
