Versions of CDH that are too new for this version of Cloudera Manager (5.9.0) will not be shown.

Hello~

I try to install the version of CM(5.9.0) with CDH(5.9.0)

It's the list of files that I had downloaded.

cloudera-manager-agent-5.9.0-1.cm590.p0.249.el6.x86_64.rpm
cloudera-manager-daemons-5.9.0-1.cm590.p0.249.el6.x86_64.rpm
cloudera-manager-server-5.9.0-1.cm590.p0.249.el6.x86_64.rpm

CDH-5.9.0-1.cdh5.9.0.p0.23-el6.parcel
CDH-5.9.0-1.cdh5.9.0.p0.23-el6.parcel.sha1

When I were adding a cluster, CM Web UI showed a message "Versions of CDH that are too new for this version of Cloudera Manager (5.9.0) will not be shown.".

And I found some message in cloudera-scm-server.log file

2016-12-30 16:55:55,705 INFO 292223149@scm-web-7:com.cloudera.server.web.cmf.ParcelController: Excluding unavailable parcel 'CDH-5.9.0-1.cdh5.9.0.p0.23' from installable candidates.

I had checked the sha1 value of  CDH-5.9.0-1.cdh5.9.0.p0.23-el6.parcel.

I don't understand why versions of CDH are too new.

Please advise~

Thank you!

Teresa

Re: Versions of CDH that are too new for this version of Cloudera Manager (5.9.0) will not be shown.

I rename CDH-5.9.0-1.cdh5.9.0.p0.23-el6.parcel.sha1 to be CDH-5.9.0-1.cdh5.9.0.p0.23-el6.parcel.sha.

Then It works!

Hello Teresa,

The message "Versions of CDH that are too new for this version of Cloudera Manager (5.9.0) will not be shown." is a standard disclaimer.

When downloading parcels manually, also download the manifest.json file.

Verify the parcel is for the correct Linux distribution.   The agent reports the Linux distro information back to the Cloudera Manager Server and will not install the el6 parcel on an el7 system.
