Re: cloudera-manager-installer fails on centos 7.3 vanilla installation (untouched /etc/yum.repos.d/

How are you doing you installs?  Are you copying and running this file?  http://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/installer/5.11.0/cloudera-manager-installer.bin

If not, does your /etc/yum.repos.d/cloudera-manager.repo file have in it.

What command are you using to install.

[ Edited ]

I am also having the same problem. Yesterday I successfully deployed a cluster using the cloudera director UI, but today when I try to create a new manager for another cluster I get a similar error as OP.

[2017-05-26 16:54:29.052 -0400] INFO  [io-thread-186] - - - - ssh:10.15.73.100: http://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/redhat/7/x86_64/cm/5.11/RPMS/x86_64/cloudera-manager-server-5.11.0-1...: [Errno -1] Package does not match intended download. run yum --enablerepo=cloudera-manager clean metadata

I tired running the suggested command "run yum --enablerepo=cloudera-manager clean metadata" on the coudera-director server, but that did not help.

Re: cloudera-manager-installer fails on centos 7.3 vanilla installation (untouched /etc/yum.repos.d/

@truonala, this issue happened (roughly) around 0400 Pacific time last Friday, May 26. I was in the middle of running some tests and, prior to that time, Cloudera Manager was successfully installed via yum packages.

Since that time, however, attempts at installing `cloudera-manager-server` , `cloudera-manager-daemons`, or really anything out of that repo, fail with the exact same errors reported by the other users in this thread.

I cannot speak for other CDH versions or Linux distros but Centos 7 and CDH 5.11 fail.

The `archive.cloudera` yum repos are incorrect. Whatever update happened Friday morning is the source of this problem. I'd recommend finding the team in charge of `archive.cloudera` and showing them this thread. They should know exactly what to do.

I've reproduced the problem on a brand new Centos 7 VM. Here's how to reproduce the problem:

cd /etc/yum.repos.d/
wget https://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/redhat/7/x86_64/cm/cloudera-manager.repo
yum install -y cloudera-manager-server

Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
cloudera-manager | 951 B 00:00:00

@truonala, I've just confirmed that the exact same problem occurs with the binary installer as well. Here's the output from the binary installer logs.

Thank you all for the detailed installation commands.     Sorry for the slow reponse.

I am reporting this issue to those reposponsible for the archived repos.   I will make this a priority.  Will keep this post informed.

Re: cloudera-manager-installer fails on centos 7.3 vanilla installation (untouched /etc/yum.repos.d/

Also i have created a repo file (/etc/yum.repo.d/cloudera-manager.repo) with below content, then ran command 'yum --enablerepo=cloudera-manager clean metadata' and then tried the installation but still no luck. I wanted to install CDH 5.7.1.
