I tried to install cloudera serach in ubuntu 12.04 using the command sudo apt-get install solr-server
The CLI says 'invalid operation solr-serach'. It seems there is no such package. I have gone through installation guide but donot understand but donot understand why the deb package is not available.

Are you sure that you have added the cdh repo to your apt sources? See http://www.cloudera.com/content/cloudera-content/cloudera-docs/CDH4/latest/CDH4-Installation-Guide/c...

Thanks for the reply.
I have cross checked agian. I have added the cdh rep to apt sources.list.d. I have completed the cdh4 deb file installation following the quick start installation guide. Without adding the repo, I feel I cannot install any package. Correct me if I am wrong.

Which other cdh or search packages have you succesfully installed?
Have you also made sure the search repo is setup? From the installation guide:

I have installed the hue, maven, hbase, mahout etc. This donot need the search repo that you have referred in your immediate mail. I will update my repo with 'search' and hope i can install solr-search.
Thank you for the reply and guidance.
