Permission denied while installing Flume

Hi, I am trying to install Flume as per the instruction from the following link

http://www.cloudera.com/content/www/en-us/documentation/archive/cdh/4-x/4-3-0/CDH4-Installation-Guid...

When I tried to copy the downloaded Tar.gz file into /usr/lib or into /usr/local/lib, I am getting Permission denied. Can you please help me how to get access to this folders? Also can you please guide me if I have any other options

You should check your user role on Linux machine where you are trying to install Flume. If that user does not have root access, you should then check whether your user has sudoer access or not.

Even if you dont have sudoer access to your user, I think you should ask administrator people who has root access to that node/machine and get sudoer access atleast.

I hope you get path to move forward with your problem.
