My computer is of 4GB RAM & 64-bit operating system.
I tried running Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager but it shows error of:
This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU.
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.
In cloudera-quickstart-vm-5.4.2-0-virtualbox - settings -> System -> Motherboard -> Base memory is maintained as of 1024MB.

@Manali can you advise which CPU and operating system version is in your computer as well as which version of virtualbox you have installed?
Aside from that I see that your total computer RAM is 4GB. This means that you will not be able to allocate the minumum of 4GB or RAM required to run CDH5 default. This is because the computer needs RAM to run its own operating system, programs and such.

You may want to check the Virtualbox forums as this may be part of an issue they have a FAQ for.
While I'm interested in the error I need to take a step back and look at the larger picture.
Your goal is to run a QuickstartVM. Your current computer does not meet the requirements due to the limited RAM available. Before installing more RAM, I would investigate the error via the Virtualbox forums as that is likely where you will find the best answer to that issue.
