I am totally new to hadoop and didn't do much programming before. I just installed cloudera quickstart via virtualbox. Hue always give me the same message:
Also try clicking Cloudera Manager. It seems like loading forever...
I followed the solution (http://gethue.com/how-to-configure-hue-in-your-hadoop-cluster/) but it seems that I cannot change hdfs-site.xml and core-site.xml directly.
Anyone can help me solve this problem? Any suggestion would be great. Thanks

This is happening because the nodes(name node and secondary node) are not started by default when you installed the application.
I tried to stop and restart the same using linux commands in terminal but did not work for me.
I uninstalled all the applications, and downloaded and installed them again. In Virtual Box, I removed and added reference to Cloudera quickstart again and launched Hue. This worked for me.
Did you try this already?
