hello cloudera team,
i am planning to take CCP exam,
does the questions ask us you code in a specific language to get to the result.
or can we use spark for all the question for ETL related activites.
based on what i read from the posts and exam objectives it says we can use any tools to come up to the solution.
as the question are problem statements and will not be technolgy specific.
can you clarify that if there will be any questions that ask like we need to use java, mapreduce stle coding only to get the reslut.
as we can get that using spark or combination of spark+hive+impala etc.

Thanks for reaching out on this.
It seems like you've read the exam description on our website, but I'll include a link to it in case you'd like to reference it further.
As you stated, the exam is administered through problem statements, and it is up to you to pick the best tools for each situation.
I dug around, and I found an FAQ page made by our Very own Cy Jervis. In the comments, someone asked a question very similar to yours:
"For CCP Data Engineer (DE575), do I need to know Python, Java, Scala and Impala? I know its not mentioned on the objectives, however the cluster mentions about these items. Do I need to write any code using above items?"
This was Cy's Answer:
"The exam asks takers to solve problems, we don't ask them to use specific technologies. There are multiple questions that requires the use of data in the Hive Metastore. That can be Hive or Impala.
There are multiple questions where there will likely be need to code. That could be MapReduce, Spark, Python, etc. It is up to the user to know how to solve problems with the language they know, not for them to understand all languages."
So, if you feel confident with the current tools you have knowledge of, that should be sufficient for the exam.
Let me know if this helps, and if you'd like, you can also email our certification specialists at email@example.com and they would be more than happy to assist you further.
