installing hadoop on windows 8

I want to install hadoop on my windows 8 machine to get some hands on.

 

Please guide me with all steps and links

 

Also as my laptop has only 4GB of RAm is it good enough ?

This forum is really for questions relating to Cloudera's training courses and certification. However: the easiest way, if you want to run Hadoop on your local machine, would be to download our QuickStart VM. You can find it at

For questions relating to the QuickStart VM, the best forum is

You should be just about OK with 4GB of RAM. However, for the full experience, including Cloudera Manager, you might want to either upgrade to 8GB (or more), or try one of the Cloudera Live environments, which runs your own cluster in the cloud. More info at
