compute stats partitioned tables

Hi,

is there any way to compute incremental stats on partitioned table, where I know just the upper level of the partition value?

For example:

Table XXX is partitoned by (Country, City)

I would like to do:

compute stats incremental  XXX partition( Country=US )

But the Impala forces me to enumerate all items, so all partition values should be set.

Thanks for the advice,

T.

Re: compute stats partitioned tables

Hi

This is currently not supported and you'll need to specify a full partition spec for all the partitions you want to compute stats. However, we are currently working on changing that behavior (see https://issues.cloudera.org/browse/IMPALA-1570) for more details.

Re: compute stats partitioned tables

It picks the ) as part of the url. Just remove it.
